Another perspective: my school is a grade ten to twelve only, and we don't teach any curriculum but the IB. Year ten is spent in Pre-IB, and to get in we had to sit an entrance exam. If we passed the minimum for that we got an interview, in which we sat with a couple of the teachers and presented a portfolio of past work and an essay on what we hoped to achieve from attending the school. I'm pretty sure nobody in my year was rejected after the interview stage though, haha.

this sounds intense. hahah i just had to decide if i wanted to, pass 10th grade and that was it. :P
